My skin is very sensitive, and this motivated me to start making my own creams/shampoo/hair conditioner/shower/deodorant etc.
The big advantage of this with a baby is that LittleGirl doesn't have to buy all the (very expensive) baby care products separately, but I can simply use the same ones we do with her.
But the diaper rash cream was new. We use washable diapers, so I didn't even know about diaper rash until we started to give her food. In this case, a rash may occur as the stomach becomes more acidic and so does the urine, which irritates the baby's skin. So we needed diaper rash cream. I also tried the version without zinc-oxide, but the one with zinc-oxide heals the skin really well.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup shea butter
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp zinc-oxide
a few drops of calendula oil (I made this from home-grown calendula, but you can also buy them)
I warmed the shea butter a little, just enough to make it soft and easy to mix.
I mixed the other ingredients at room temperature.
I order the ingredients from a store called Ökokuckó, they had everything I needed so far. I do not receive any share for mentioning the store.
